Eligibility:-
• WRIIL may be granted by the competent authority to a Government servant (permanent or temporary) who suffers from an illness or injury during official duty.
Pay & Allowances During WRIIL
(i) During Hospitalization:
• Full pay and allowances shall be granted to all employees for the entire period of hospitalization.
(ii) Beyond Hospitalization:
• The WRIIL entitlement depends on the category of the employee:
(i) During Hospitalization:
• Full pay and allowances shall be granted to all employees for the entire period of hospitalization.
(ii) Beyond Hospitalization:
• The WRIIL entitlement depends on the category of the employee:
(a) Government Servant (except Military Officers):
o Full pay and allowances for six months immediately after hospitalization.
o Half pay for the next twelve months.
o The half-pay period may be commuted to full pay by debited Half Pay Leave from the employee’s leave account.
(b) Officers of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF):
o Full pay and allowances for six months after hospitalization.
o Full pay (without allowances) for the next twenty-four months.
(c) Personnel below Officer Rank in CAPF:
o Full pay and allowances with no time limit.
Leave Accrual During WRIIL
• No Earned Leave (EL) or Half Pay Leave (HPL) shall be credited during the period an employee is on WRIIL.
