Nature of Casual Leave
• Casual Leave is not a recognized form of leave.
• A Government servant on Casual Leave is not treated as absent from duty.
Combination with Other Leave
• CL can be combined with Special Casual Leave.
• It cannot be combined with any other kind of leave.
• CL cannot be combined with joining time.
• CL can be combined with Special Casual Leave.

Holidays and Weekly Offs
• Sundays and public holidays falling during a period of CL are not counted as part of CL.
• Sundays, public holidays, restricted holidays, and weekly offs can be prefixed or suffixed to CL.

CL While on Tour
• Casual Leave can be taken while on tour. However, no daily allowance (DA) will be admissible for the period.

Duration and Restrictions
• CL can be taken for half a day.
• It should not normally be granted for more than 5 days at any one time.
Leave Travel Concession (LTC)
• LTC can be availed during CL.
Entitlement
• General entitlement: 8 days per calendar year.
• For employees with disabilities: 12 days per calendar year.
• Employees
joining in the middle of a year may avail CL proportionately or the
full period at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
