Opening of SCSS by those who have retired & aged 55 to 60 years – Terms and conditions??

Ø SCSS account can be opened by those who has attained age 55 years but less than 60 years & have retired on superannuation or otherwise 

Ø In respect of retired defence personnel, he shall be eligible to open SCSS account on attaining the age of 50.Civilian defence employees are not eligible.

Ø Such accounts should be opened from three months from the date of receipt of retirement benefits.

Ø Retirement benefits includes payment due to the account holder on account of retirement on superannuation or otherwise and includes Provident Fund dues, retirement or superannuation or death gratuity, commuted value of pension, cash equivalent of leave, savings element of Group Savings Linked Insurance Scheme payable by the employer on retirement, retirement-cum withdrawal benefit under the Employees' Family Pension Scheme and ex-gratia payments under a voluntary or a special voluntary retirement scheme
