List of Postal Products renamed and discontinued

The following changes have been made in Postal Products vide Post Office Regulation rules 2024. This has been implemented in Post Offices in the latest version POS v5.1.

ü  VPP service is renamed as COD Retail.

ü  Registered Printed Books service is discontinued…..

ü  Registered Pattern & Sample packet service is discontinued…..

ü  Maximum weight of Registered letter is 500 Grams

ü  (Earlier it was 2Kg.)

ü  If exceeds 500 Grams it should be booked as Parcel.

ü  Parcel maximum weight 35 KGs.

ü  URP: -Unregistered Parcel concept is discontinued.        

ü  Maximum Limit of EMO is increased to Rs.10,000/- (Earlier it was Rs.5000). Limit of remittance to a person for a month is up to Rs.25, 000/-.

ü  Only 4 IPO denominations: 10, 20, 50 & 100 will only be available. (Earlier available denominations 1,2,5,7 are now discontinued.)
