2. As you are aware that the PPF Transit Account which is an office account in Finacle having No. SOLID+0322 is credited whenever the amount is received from any bank for transfer of PPF/SSA account from bank to post office. The amount credited is again debited at the time of opening of the transferred account in post office and the net balance in the account shall become zero. As per para 6 (ii) (c) (1) of the Annexure to SB order 04/2021, the balance in the PPF Transit Account "SOLID+0322" should always be zero.
3. A random study made by FS Division in Finacle showed that the PPF Transit Account "SOLID+0322" in many offices are not made 'zero' instead huge Debit/Credit balances are available. This is not being monitored by the respective Postmasters or SBCOS. Had the post offices followed the prescribed procedure in handling this office account, the balance would have been zero only. Postmaster/SPM are responsible for the transactions in the office accounts, and they are supposed to monitor all the office accounts.
4. The Circles are, therefore, requested to analyze the reasons for availability of balance in those accounts and take immediate necessary action to make the same zero, wherever, debit or credit balances are noticed. Circles may also like to identify the officers responsible for not following the instructions issue in this regard and take appropriate action. An action taken report in this regard may be forwarded to this office positively by 30-11-2024.
5. This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.
