Sub: Increasing awareness regarding modes/channels for PLI/RPLI premium digital payment.

This is regarding publicizing of digital modes/channels of PLI/RPLI premium payment. In recent years, apart from traditional modes of premium payment such as cash and cheque/DD at counter or through pay recovery, various other digital modes such as POSB-Standing Instructions (SI), e- banking, m-banking, POSB ATM, NACH, Customer Portal (including credit/debit card, internet banking, UPI and e-wallet), IPPB and IPPB-SI have also been introduced to facilitate PLI/RPLI premium payment in a more convenient and hassle-free manner.

 

2. However, while reviewing the count of online PLI/RPLI premium payment transactions made during the FY 2023-24, it is seen that the percentage of transactions through digital channels is less than 10 percent.

 

3. In view of the above, it is requested that suitable steps may kindly be taken to raise awareness among customers and encourage transactions through digital/online premium payment modes by giving wide publicity to the same through our staff, PLI/RPLI sales force, and marketing/promotional material.

 

This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
